Abstract
Ratchaphruek Hospital exemplifies innovation and resilience in Thailand’s healthcare sector. Initially navigating limited business expertise and the 1997 Asian Financial Crisis, the hospital earned patient trust by prioritizing high-quality care and adopting the unique “homepital” concept. With a focus on sustainable operations, equitable social security services, and Isaan-inspired designs that integrate natural elements, the hospital has become a cornerstone of community healthcare while reducing costs through energy efficiency.
This case study examines Ratchaphruek Hospital’s strategic journey, from overcoming financial hurdles to being listed on the Stock Exchange of Thailand in 2017, enabling expansion and pioneering initiatives like a stem cell center in collaboration with MEDEZE Group. The case study explores themes of ethical healthcare delivery, environmental sustainability, and financial innovation, analyzing how these strategies have driven resilience, growth, and global recognition in medical travel services.
