Abstract

UniFAHS is a Thai deep-tech biotechnology startup established in 2020, aiming to address the global challenge of antimicrobial resistance (AMR) in the livestock industry by replacing antibiotics with sustainable bacteriophage-based solutions.

Drawing from UniFAHS’s founder interviews, the case study analyzes the company’s strategy of aligning in-house R&D capabilities with international research institutions, investors, and local distribution partners to adapt its Phage technology to meet market needs across Thailand, Malaysia, and beyond. It invites learners to evaluate UniFAHS’ strategic choices and consider alternative pathways for global expansion in emerging biotech markets in the future.
